work, asanas, and relaxation for those looking to begin with the practice of

Sessions:
This eight-week course is geared for the person behind the camera. It will train you to use your eye to compose a photograph with the rules of composition, lighting and exposure. This class is for beginners who own a digital or 35mm camera. The first class will be on the history of photography. There will be classes in flash photography and slide presentation with one class devoted to video. Other classes will be in photographing people, night photography, picture framing, and basic darkroom printing. Two Sunday afternoon fieldtrips will be included. INSTRUCTOR: Thomas Fahie

NARRATIVE TECHNIQUES IN FICTION Mondays: 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Room: 120 8 Sessions: February 1 - March 29 Tuition: $80 Become inspired to get started, continue on or finish creative writing projects. This class will open up the writer’s tool kit and spark the imagination – the key to successful writing. Tools from the writer’s kit will be discussed and will enable writers at all levels to demystify the process of writing and banish writer’s block. Reading materials will be provided along with in-class and take home writing assignments. By the end of the class students will have completed at least one scene or story. INSTRUCTOR: Debra Kurilecz
Mondays & Wednesdays: 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Room: 121/123 8 Sessions: March 15 - April 7 Tuition: $90 (plus registration fee) This course is designed to aid students, particularly juniors, in preparing for the Scholastic Aptitude Test given in the Spring. Sample tests will be used to develop skills and experience in dealing with both the verbal and mathematics sections of the test. Test taking strategies will also be explored. The Kaplan SAT 2010 Edition: Comprehensive Program book is mandatory for this course and must be purchased before the first class. INSTRUCTORS: Tom Melanson and Matt Fisher
SOCIAL MEDIA FOR YOUR HOME AND BUSINESS Mondays: 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Room: 178 8 Sessions: February 1 - March 29 Tuition: $95 This interactive class will teach you how to use social media tools to communicate with anyone. Perhaps you've heard of Facebook, FriendFeed, Twitter, Livestream, Podcasting, Vlogging, Blogging, Foursquare and more. In this class you'll find out how and why people are using them and the best ways to make them work for you. Whether you want to communicate with kids at school, friends across the country, neighbors next door or even customers for your business, we'll explore the best ways to step into new media and make it work for you. This multi-session course only requires that you know how to surf the Internet and have some curiosity about why everyone's so interested in social media. Jeff Cutler is a 20-year journalist and has been using social media tools since 1999.
