Student Athletes & College Athletics

As a prospective student-athlete at a Division I or II institution, you have certain responsibilities to attend to before you may participate. Information concerning who needs to register with the Clearinghouse and what documents should be submitted can be found in The Guide for College Bound Student-Athletes.  Students who plan on playing sports at a Division III school do not need to register with the NCAA Clearinghouse.

Campus Champs.com provides high school and college athletes with a one-stop shopping solution for their college planning and financial aid needs altogether online in a friendly, sports-based community.  It was developed to create a convenient source of information for student-athletes about finding a postsecondary school, applying for admission, and obtaining financial aid. The site also offers a valuable service to financial aid administrators and athletic department counselors as it provides them with an online resource for inquiring student-athletes.  CampusChamps is a free web site sponsored by American Education Services (AES).

Link Athletics.com  Link to over 13,000 web sites for men's and women's athletics programs at universities. Organized by sport/gender/state.

NCAA  This site contains much valuable information for the potential college athlete including eligibility requirements for Division 1, 2, & 3 schools. This site also has a link which you can use to check if your high school courses will meet NCAA approval.

NJCAA  The National Junior College Athletic Association provides opportunities for student-athletes to continue their athletic careers. The NJCAA is divided into three divisions just like the NCAA. The schools who are members of this organization are two-year community and junior colleges. After completing their eligibility, a student-athlete may choose to continue their academic and athletic career at a NCAA or NAIA school.

NAIA  The small, private colleges and universities that are members of NAIA offer most of the same opportunities as NCAA schools.

*College Recruiting  CollegeRecruiting.com connects high school students and athletes with college and university recruiters for scholarships, financial aid and education. This for fee site ($29/year) includes 45 different sports for men and women.

*National Recruiting Network has assisted hundreds of college-bound student-athletes gain exposure to college coaches and information on the recruiting process through our "GAME PLAN" Recruiting Program.

* National Scouting Report  The services provided by the National Scouting Report, a for fee site, to each high school student-athlete enrolled are thorough and extensive. Each applicant is evaluated by talent, academics, character, desire and potential before he or she is accepted. Student-athletes who do qualify and become a part of the program enjoy a very high rate of success. Recruiting has become more competitive and high-tech in the last couple of years. Prospect videos, up-to-date scouting reports, academic records, evaluations, locating prospects meeting specific criteria are provided for free to coaches. Any prospect recommended by a high school coach will be listed here along with his/her personal profile - free of charge.

*Prep Star  Since 1982, Collegiate Sports of America has helped thousands of qualified and deserving student-athletes in all sports obtain athletic scholarships and financial aid for college. The CSA Online Recruiting Center is used by college coaches nationwide as a tool for their recruiting efforts. PrepStar's DataNet service is a searchable database that let's you create or find the data you are looking for. This database contains information on over 3,000 of the nation's top prospects every year. For fee.

*Recruit Zone  Offers a variety of for fee resources and personalized recruiting services for student/athletes including monthly newsletter and recruiting guide.

*School Goals Hockey Placement Advisors Founded to help parents of hockey players, both boys and girls, make informed choices when selecting the best school and hockey program for their child.  By providing objective evaluation of each player's abilities, together with his or her academic qualifications, families are more educated to make decisions about their son's or daughter's future.  For fee.

*Scout USA  Allsport Recruiting is a recruiting service that uses both the Internet and direct personal services to market high school athletes. After a student submits a resume it is sent out to schools you've selected. For fee.

*Student MVP  StudentMVP.com bridges the geographic gap between players and coaches from around the world. By providing an online forum to collect and search information about players, their skills and their academic performance. For fee.

* University Sports  USP specializes in helping top student-athletes make contact with college coaches who are searching for top prospects for their athletic programs. For fee.
