Introduction:
There are a lot of interesting things in ponds. In this quest
you'll get to
take a closer look at some pond life. Doing
this WebQuest will also teach you more about the lifecycle of the frog. So if you're ready to be a nature detective... let's get
started!
Task:
Prior to this WebQuest, kindergartners will learn about the life cycle
of the frog through classroom lessons and non-fiction books. They
will use one form to
review the process and another form
to label the different stages. Children will also investigate pond
creatures, choose one to research and then present that information to
the class with a creative project. They will also play an
interactive frog game of their choice. Finally, each child will fill out a
rubric to determine if all the tasks were completed. This
quest is not as long as our Art
WebQuest, but the OPTIONAL Pond Life Creature Project might take a
long time depending on the presentation that your child selects.
Process:
Print
out the Frog Life Cycle
Review Form. Review the life cycle with your family. Be
sure that you understand the different stages.
Print out the Frog
Life Cycle Label Form. Fill out this form. You may use
the review form to help you. Use numerals to help you
identify the order of the life cycle.
Choose a pond creature to research.
Click on a creature to learn more. You
might want to print out copies of your pond creature or bookmark the site for easy
